    Faux Wood Technique

At our Sunday workshop we will be experimenting
with the Faux Wood technique. This is made very
easy with the Stampin' Up Dry Brush jumbo wheel.

I used the Ruby Red jumbo cartridge rolling the
Dry Brush wheel onto Really Rust cardstock. I then
swiped my Close To Cocoa ink pad randomly over
this in the direct to paper technique. I used the craft
White pad to add some more streaks and distressing
    to the edges.

This is a quick and easy background. You can use it
for lots of color combinations to simulate real or painted
and weathered wood looks. Try grays and white or gray
and blue together. Any creams, reds, or browns also
    work well for this.

You can also draw some lines and add "nail holes"
to give it a more authentic look.
