January 11 ElzybellsJanuary 10 Bird NotesJanuary 09 Feminine FloralJanuary 08 Color and Cat ChallengeI multi-tasked on this card. There was a challenge at Cococat's
to make a card with a cat. I used this image from Penny Black,
colored in Prismacolor pencils and Copic markers. The second
part of the challenge was from today over at SCS to use the colors
Banana, Wasabi, and Blue Bayou. I also used the Petals wheel,
Petals & Paisley? paper with SU brads.
Photo WalletFor this I used Close To My Heart's More To Adore
paper pack and stamp set, Stampin' Up's Doodle This
and Doodle That stamp sets. For a wonderful step by step
check out this SCS link:

January 07 PrismacoloringI really love my Prismacolor pencils, I think it was by far my
most worthwhile crafting investment. The stamps by Karen Lockhart
are perfect for using these. If you check out this link you will find a
wonderful tutorial and tips for coloring, shading, and blending.
I took a class by Karen last year and it was very informative. What I remember
taking away from this the most was to layer on the colors gradually, take your time
with the shading and blending. It is always easier to add a little bit more color if you need to.
And of course practice, practice, practice!
January 06 Going For BaroqueJanuary 05 10 Minute ProjectI used an empty General Foods International Coffee can
and covered it with the new Ginger Blossoms paper by SU
trimmed in Groovy Guava stitched grosgrain ribbon. I cut a
flower out of the paper, added a Pretties Kit pearl and popped
it out on a dimensional. This paper is so fabulous, I am just about
through my first package and will be ordering another tomorrow!
January 03 Tag Punch FlowerJanuary 02 Crayon ResistThis was a multi-tasker challenge, one on the
demo forum for the crayon resist technique and
the other for the sketch layout found here:
I highlighted the blossoms in white crayon to look like cotton
and then brayered them in Soft Sky and Pretty in Pink.
January 01 Post It Note HolderI used a 4x6" acrylic frame and the new Embrace Life set with
the Ginger Blossoms paper. For the flower I colored it in Pretty
In Pink and then smushed it into the Regal Rose ink pad, highlighted
with white gel pen. I got a deal on these frames at our Fred Meyer,
buy 2 and get 1 free. I may go back tomorrow and stock up as these
make a nice little gift that is quick and easy.
Happy New Year!!Best wishes to you all for a very Happy, healthy
New Year filled with many blessings.
For a resolution...
I am really going to try to keep up with this blog
and stay current with new cards to upload and have
resolved to try at least one technique each week. |
